Hi everybody! ;)
Today I want to write about my favourite movie. It is called "Limitless", "Ohne Limit".
I have watched the film many times so far because I really like it.
"Limitless" was made in 2011 and it is set in New York City.
The star in the movie is Bradley Cooper (Eddie Morra).
Some ohter famous actors playing in the film are
Robert De Niro (Carl Van Loon) and Abbie Cornish (Lindy)
It is about Eddie Morra, a lazy and unsuccessful writer, who meets a drug dealer on the street.
The dealer persuades Eddie to take "NZT-48". It's a drug which increases the user's concentration, productivity and perception.
Eddie gets successful in writing, learns some foreign languages in very short time, becomes manager and earns a lot of money.
During the film there emerge a lot of problems with a man of the russian drug mafia and another drug addicted.
In the end Eddie solves his problems, gets his lost girlfriend back but stays addicted to NZT-48.
The critics said it was good.

Thanksgiving & Black Friday
Hi everybody! ;)
Today I will tell you something about Thanksgiving and Black Friday!
I was reading an article the other day in "Wikipedia" and it talks about Thanksgiving.
I thought you might be interested because Thanksgiving is a festival that also Austrian people celebrate. In Austria it is called harvest festival.
Basically what it says is that Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States and in Canada.
It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. On this day the people thank for what they have.
What interested me most was that it is traditional that families and friends get together and have a great meal, mostly with a big turkey and potatoes, vegetables and pumpkin pie.
Many people have a four-day weekend so they often visit their families and friends. Most companies and schools are closed on Thanksgiving.
I was watching a video on "YouTube" and it talks about Black Friday.
I thought you might be interested because all the shops have big discounts.
Black Friday is the friday after Thanksgiving.
Basically it says that the day is often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
It also says that everyone want to buy something on this day.
What shocked me most was that the shops open at four or five o'clock and the people even wait during the night to be the first in the shop.

November 5th - Guy Fawkes DAY
Hi everybody!
On Wednesday there was a special day, the Guy Fawkes Day.
English people celebrate Guy Fawkes Day at November 5th.
But who was Guy Fawkes? Guy Fawkes, also known as Guido Fawkes, was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics. He was born in Stonegate, York on April 13th, 1570.
Guy Fawkes is famous because he wanted to bust the Palace of Westminster. He tried to kill King James, his family, all the parliament members and the bishops in the country.
He planned an aussault because King James pursued some catholic people. He wanted to restore a Catholic monarch to the throne.
One night Guy Fawkes and the plotters put barrels with a lot of gunpowder in the cellar of the government building.
But there were some friends of the plotters in the government, so they warned them with a letter. But Lord Monteagle obtained the letter.
Fawkes killed himself before his execution.
That's why the English people celebrate Guy Fawkes Day every year on the 5th of November.
Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

A student from London
Hi everybody!
Today a young student from London visited us in our English lesson. Her name is Elise and she lives in Basingstoke. Basingstoke is a city which is 30 minutes away from London. Elise is 20 years old and she has a younger sister. Her mother is from France and her dad is from England.
She has been in Austria for one month now and she speaks English, French and German.
She has studied for three years at Worcester College which means that she has to study for one more year. In Oxford there are 36 colleges and every college has an own library.
It is amazing how expensive studying in Oxford is. If you study one year at an university you have to pay 10.000 pounds. At Worcester College the students wear an uniform if they have an exam.
The uniform is called Sub Fusc.
I liked the lesson very much and I hope we will have a lesson like this again. ;)

Neighbours from hell!
Hi everybody,
Last week I watched a video on "You Tube" and it was about an estate agent who wanted to sell a house. Next to this house lived a man who did everything to avoid getting new neighbours.
I thought you might be interested because it is frightening how bad people can stand each other.
Basically what the man says is that he was the first who settled at this place. So it is "his place".
What shocked me most was that the neighbour wrote down all bad attributes that a neighbour can have. For instance he wrote on a big sign: "Loud Parties, Loud Music, Loud Cars, 3 Rottweilers, 1 Horse and Fireworks."
I agree with the estate agent that the offered house will never be sold because of the awful neigbour.
What do YOU think? Here's the link to the video:

Hi everybody!
This year I was on vacation from August 30th to September 6th, 2013.
I spent my holidays with my family and my relatives.
This was the travel route of our journey:
31.08.2013 Kiel
01.09.2013 Copenhagen
02.09.2013 Oslo
03.09.2013 Stavanger
04.09.2013 Flam
05.09.2013 Hellesylt/Geiranger
06.09.2013 day at sea
07.09 2013 Kiel
We started our cruise in Kiel on August 31st, 2013 in the evening.
The first "real" destination was Denmark's capital city, Copenhagen. Copenhagen is a wonderful and clean city. We didn't do a guided tour and therefore visited the city on our own.
The following day we were in Norway's capital city. There we visited Vigeland Park, the old city and the new opera house.
On Tuesday our voyage led us to Stavanger. Here we visited an oil museum and we also saw the old city.
In Flam a bus drove us to a huge waterfall and to the "White Caves" with little trolls in it.
In Geiranger we had a very interesting excursion. A bus took us 1500 metres up to Dalsnibba's summit.
On Friday we were on the ship all day long. We were in the fitness centre, whirlpools and in the evening we went to the theatre.
It was a very interesting and exciting trip and I hope that I could give you some impressions of my tour through Norway. ;)
