Today I will tell you something about Thanksgiving and Black Friday!
I was reading an article the other day in "Wikipedia" and it talks about Thanksgiving.
I thought you might be interested because Thanksgiving is a festival that also Austrian people celebrate. In Austria it is called harvest festival.
Basically what it says is that Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States and in Canada.
It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. On this day the people thank for what they have.
What interested me most was that it is traditional that families and friends get together and have a great meal, mostly with a big turkey and potatoes, vegetables and pumpkin pie.Many people have a four-day weekend so they often visit their families and friends. Most companies and schools are closed on Thanksgiving.
I was watching a video on "YouTube" and it talks about Black Friday.
I thought you might be interested because all the shops have big discounts.
Black Friday is the friday after Thanksgiving.
Basically it says that the day is often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
It also says that everyone want to buy something on this day.
What shocked me most was that the shops open at four or five o'clock and the people even wait during the night to be the first in the shop.
